Online Access

These services enable patients to book appointments with Advanced Nurse Practitioners and some nurse appointments.

Patients can order repeat medication and view parts of their medical record on a computer, tablet or smartphone using either a website or an application or “App” with additional functionality being added all the time.

Digital Services are free to use and are another way of contacting the surgery, some of the benefits of using Digital Services include:

  • Booking and cancellation of appointments for patients to suit their day, access to digital services is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. (The surgery chooses which appointments can be booked online).
  • Ordering of repeat prescriptions. Patients are finding the benefits of Digital Services and that they save money and time as patients don’t need to make special trips to the surgery to order repeat prescriptions etc.
  • Patients can look at part of their medical records online, being able to look at your records whenever you want, gives greater freedom and can be viewed in the comfort of home, services such as eConsult help patients find answers to questions they may have, without booking an appointment or ringing the surgery.

Further information is shown below for all the major Digital Services currently available from the surgery, information on how patients can sign up for these services can be obtained by contacting the surgery.

NB: Patients signing up to online access, need to produce appropriate I.D. at reception within 6 months of initial sign up, after which time patients will need to re-register.

eConsult

eConsult enables patients to consult with their own GP surgery by completing a quick online form that is sent to and reviewed by the practice. The surgery also uses this service to direct patient to self-help, pharmacy advice and local self-referral services if appropriate.

Research shows that 70% of requests are closed without the need for a face-to-face appointment, in some cases this may mean that patients can receive appropriate assistance sooner than may otherwise be the case, the surgery look to respond to e Consultations within 48 hours.

Your patients can get help via eConsult anytime 24 hours a day 365 days per year even outside of surgery hours. Our Clinical Governance Board ensures a robust red flagging system is applied to every patient request. We are fully compliant and use the highest security standards to ensure patient data is always secure.

Patient Access

Once registered for this service, patients can immediately book or cancel appointments online. Upon appropriate I.D. verification with a receptionist, patients can have additional services enabled such as booking additional appointments, managing repeat prescriptions, and access to aspects of their medical record. Please be aware some services can take up to 28 days to be approved.

The Patient Access Service is available 24 hours a day 365 days per year even outside of surgery hours.

We advise users of Patient Access to check the name and email address of the sender, all emails from Patient Access will come via an email address that ends in @patientaccess.com. We advise users never to click on any log in links that you receive via email but to visit the site via the address bar of your browser instead so that you know you are on the genuine Patient Access log in page. We strongly advise users to set up their Memorable Word security feature, as well as using biometrics (fingerprint ID) if they use the app.

Email addresses used to register for Patient Access account are secure. We do not share any data and no data is ever saved or stored on any device you use to access Patient Access.
